The rotating bristles feed the dust and dirt into the unit and the suction power will try to bring it into the collection compartment but if the vacuum cleaner loses suction after a few rounds of vacuuming any heavier particles might end up just falling back out onto the floor meaning the collection compartment and air filter require frequent cleaning for optimal performance and the drop in suction is quite significant once some dust and carpet fibres are lodged by the filter

Always wanted a handvvacuum that can be used as a regular vacuum too and they all cost in the upper 200 range not this one

The charging cradle makes it convenient to keep the vacuum ready to go and neatly stores the included attachments – my only design complaint is that the upright body must be removed from the cradle to access the attachements for use with the handheld vacuum but it is a very minor issue

I have to empty it and wash it out with almost every use and i have a small 1100 square foot townhouse and its a messy dirty process

Messy to clean you have to reach in and pull out hair from bottom of container and the hair from the filter

One word of warning though is that you should probably be careful with the clip keeping the roller in on the base
