This cable fills this role exactly, nothing fancy but it serves its purpose.
Cons
Cables work for 60hz, but doesn't support 144hz. Only goes from display port to dvi not the other way. Does not work with my wife's hp laptop. Cables were defective.

This cable and others like it are considered passive adapters look for active adapters if you want a higher refresh rates like 120hz or 144hz

Ive got a refurbished pc and the high quality video was videoport so i couldnt connect it to my monitor

Make sure your device can output dvi signal from a displayport hookup

Displayport and dvi signals are different and if you try to feed displayport signal directly into a dvi monitor it wont work
