Since its kind of a mechanical system to open up the spout using the button the whole top is not dissasemblable hence you cannot deep clean it

As other people have said with contigo containers cleaning can be an issue which is the reason i gave 4 stars instead of 5

The main container comes clean with no stink easily its the lid thats tricky

The red ring seen in the photo tends to pop out when the bottle gets dropped but it goes back in
