There was damage to the back cover and sidewalls near where the screws were making me believe that the unit had been opened and then closed or assembled poorly

When i got this controller the instructions said not to use it on a brushless motori had no idea what that is so i called a sewing machine store that had a service dept

The router speed controller is what makes the hitachi useable

I always found the hitachi to be too intense even at the low setting
