I also cut a length of tygon tubing about 3 feet long and slip that over the end of the valve place the end of the hose in my pan and open the valve

I can walk away from the car and come back in an hour or the next day and finish the oil change with out spilling a drop

I dont need a wrenchsocket wrench i dont have to worry about stripping my oil pan bolt and it drains in a clean and steady stream

Even if it did leak id be able to tell at a glance since my oil pan no longer has stray oil that im too lazy to clean after every single oil change

The really low viscosity oil my car calls for is probably part of the issue but i do have to knock a star off since ideally this thing should be as clean when i open to drain as it is when i close and wipe it after the oil change
