Pros & Cons

Pros

Ge ro machines are simple and durable. Am very pleased with this new system.

Installation is typical of other units that i've installed. Not the easiest, but not real difficult for a handyman. Replacement parts are terrifically priced and easy to work with. Unless you are really handy and know what you're doing it's best to ha...  Read More

This is a great ro filter it keeps on working. Cartridges easy to obtain from multiple sources. The cost from ge tank is $100 and the new package at $131 included all the equipment and filters.

Cons

Ge product is garbage. Air vent leaks too often and is not clogged. Ge blames installation, installers, harry potter and anything else rather than take blame themselves.

Leaks at ro media capfilters expire quicklyeasy to install, but nothing but a headache after that. Ruined my cabinetry. Caused a very expensive repair on my basement.

New faucet is worse than tap water. Wastes 10 gallons of water to produce 1 gallon. I prefer to use my britta and tap over this unit.

Quality

My wife and i are very happy with this product

We had one in our last house where the water quality was poor and this cleaned it up nicely

I do not use the air gap faucet for the waste water

It works well with the exception of the faucet which would not stop leaking

Packaging/appearance

I did this myself and found that the prefilter was quite dirty but the postfilter was still clean

Competitiveness

I tried a competitor but was not happy

It’s pretty much the same system however the water lines are color coded and uses pushtoconnect fittings

After 4 years we had nothing but problems

I installed ge system myself and found it not difficult to do it but if you lack of plumbing experience look videos about installation including draining line and supply line which are the must complicated to install also filters replacement are kind of tricky specially if you don’t lubricate the “o” ring cause they will make a water mess

Pretty nice system but ge will only supply a saddle valve instead of regular valve and you’ll need to make a hole in water supply line which is kind of obsolete and risky

I have to use a booster pump at country house because my well does not give enough pressure

If you have a garden just run the waste water to your plants
