    My camera was setup for dhcp from the factory which was surprising as the instructions had stated a static ip address

    Once i installed the hikvision tools application on a windows vm and accessed the sadp app from the tools it was able to discover the dhcp assigned ip address which allowed me to access the camera just fine via the web interface or setup the ivms4200 software in osx

    Using the web interface to view live video did require the installation of a plugin on both internet explorer in windows safari on mac which i downloaded from the hikvision website

    Im using the camera as a pet cam with the pir feature enabled and have it set to notify me of the pir alerts using the ivms4500 app on my iphone
