It works well as a bookshelf now, and it is sturdy, that's for sure. Not so sturdy that i would put anything precious and breakable on it but i trust my seedlings on it.
I needed a simple, but strong utility shelf for my office/shop & this appears to be perfect! Great shelf for the price. Perfect size for a shelving unit on top of a standard file cabinet.
The reasonably priced at $37.
Cons

I am not a 'fussy karen' type, but felt compelled to warn anyone wasting time on this product. This product is flimsy and rediculous. Do not recommend.

The instructions were easy to follow and the unit went together easily but you need to think ahead of the construction
