Contrary to the item description this does work as a microphone extension cord

Previous reviews described this as not working with 3ring 4 contact headphones those with integrated microphone controls

However i assumed this meant only that the miccontrol signal would not be passed through the extension and that the stereo audio would still work

When plugging in a 3ring earbudmic the stereo audio quality is drastically degraded
