This is an awesome book that i'll study continuously all year long. Once you're at the intermediate level or better, this book is very helpful! I mean it's just a great book for everyone, from beginners to more advanced players.

Mco variations are extremely comprehensive, enough for a gm most of the time. Unlike mco, in nco there's an introduction for like the sicilian. That's mco in a nutshell.

It has tables of variations with tons of extra footnotes, far more than anyone could memorize. The 16th edition is overdue. The only downside is that there are a few errors and typos in the book.



Cons

It's supposed to show columns 2 thru 6 across the top with the entires for each column in tabular format below. There are significant spelling errors and the formatting is atrocious. A headache to try to read through.
