Pros

The system works most satisfactorily providing clear ice cubes. The crush-quotient of the cubes is on par with the coveted crushed ice of movie theaters.

Cons

The manual says to consult a qualified technician for this issue. Only makes like 10 cubes at a time. Will be buying another ice-maker from another manufacturer.

The so-called “warranty’ is an absolute farce. The “one year warranty” claims that parts and repair service is available in your area area. Not happy with newair's customer services' replacement offers.

Only lasted a year. After several hours on, barely a handful of ice was made. It keep breaking other than makes great ice.

Super handy and easy to use does not take up much space and makes ice very quickly

The bin storage is well insulated and keeps the cubes cold for good lengths of time

Upon resetting and putting water in it it will no longer make ice properly and the pump fills the tray at random

The melted ice cycles back into the reservoir and gets made into cubes again

We finally threw out the 500 one

I saw it was on sale and ordered a second one knowing how many we go through

I also made sure it was packed correctly the box was marked several places which end is up

The only other complaint is amazons packing they didnt use the correct size box or strength to pack it properly

Competitiveness

The ice melts much more slowly than other brands which is very important to me

At one time i believe these two companies marketed the same ice maker but i couldnt locate this machine labeled as a magic chef today

Overall the inside of the ice maker is identical to the other brand that i could not find available

This ice maker has some noise but not as much as other brands i have tried
