See pictures for a visual comparison between a slightly dirty version of the old rt blush brush i had to scrape the black polymer at the bottom off because it had gotten sticky over the years thus the shiny plastic behind it is exposed and the new version i got from amazon

It seems to be made of similar materialsaluminum body with a base that is coated with a rubberlike polymer

I remember maybe less than a handful of hairs falling out on the old one in total most of which fell out within the first few cleanings
