Pros

The interface is very intuitive. The menu system is intuitive and even fun to use. One thing you can do is go directly to the show you want by going to the program guide selecting the show and pressing the enter button.

The tuner works with a normal rooftop antenna to bring in the digital stations in the area. It's possible that i may need to switch to a roof top antenna to get them. We live about 25 to 40 miles to the transmitters past some hills.

The channels change and lockin faster. Just a lot more blank channels, but those can be manually deleted.

The picture quality is very good. When the signal is marginal the picture is still usually perfect.

The unit is light and compact fitting easily within anyones home entertainment system. It's quiet, the remote isn't too busy, and the unit is relatively small. Easy to use menus and the remote is small, but full function.



Cons

I was disapointed and frustrated. After waiting on the phone for another 20 minutes i was disconnected. I call again and there was a supposed glitch in the communication at the wharehouse and that they would process my refund immediately.

There are many options for connection on both boxes the main difference being that the samsung has dvi out whereas the humax has hdmi out

    When i purchased it i didnt realize the onscreen menus were actual program guides built from the overtheair signal but they are and it makes for a great user experience

    The toshiba does have a tuner but we dont use it because the picture is not nearly as clear as the samsung

    I bought this more out of curiosity with the technology than anything else not being an avid tv watcher

    I tied this out on an 7 year old sony trintron crt and the image quality was awesome and thats not even using the full resolution of hdtv
