Pros
At least my uses (garage tinkering and household use) this thing rocks. Measuring ability is great, the dial is gear-driven and extremely precise. I use mine for ammo reloading and it hasn't fail me yet.
Reasonably durable for the price. Great in a shop, no dead battery to deal with. It actually exceeds my expectations going by some of the reviews. Considering the price, fit, & finish the calipers are genuine bargain!
Cons
Horrible craftsmanship. Dial is not at all as pictured! Might be ok for hobby but not for professional.
The pointer is under spring tension and they now return to zero every time! The jaw end of the rack is rough and has quite a burr on it that would catch when opening from zero.

You can loosen the plate with the numbers and realign them to wherever you want zero to be
I wasnt expecting brown and sharp or mitutoyo quality but these arrived with the shim screws completely loose
With the shim out theyre quite sloppy and you can apply pressure in different ways to disengage the wheels from the rack as you slide them
Price
I suppose thats where the price comes from
Packaging/appearance
I would appreciate the packaging to be a box
If youre wanting a set that works smoothly and perfectly right out of the box then these may not be for you

Perhaps the extreme cold day combined with low cost plastic housing that becomes more brittle when frozen contributed as well

Works ok needed to hit some of the areas with sandpaper because it could not open and close freely like i need it to measurementing parts at work all nite using it several hundred times a day
