Pros & Cons
Pros
Seiko is the best bang for your buck when it comes to semi-luxury watches. It keeps great time, looks amazing on different bands (including natos), and had detailing that you wouldn't expect for this price. Very light and affordable price.
Seiko ssb031 is of great quality and strong. Well proportioned and easy to read. Great symmetry and design. Watch enthusiast's dream.
Stainless steel bracelet is a little lightweight (as other reviewers have noted), but the links are machined from solid billets and are not formed from folded bits of sheet metal. The stainles steel band wristband from the new seiko is now on my 1978 ... Read More
Seiko's take on the legendary omega speedmaster (the moon watch) it reminds me of the omega speedmaster but at a fraction of the price. Obvious homage to the omega speedmaster/moon watch.
Timekeeping accuracy between the mid-eighties quartz movement and the modern model are about the same. Some people complain about seiko watches not resetting the seconds hand timer exactly at 12, but mine does it perfectly.
Highlights
Quality
This is my third seiko and it lives up to the quality you know and expect from seikos
Me personally i switched it to a black leather rally strap to keep with the racing style
The watch looks almost like the moonwatch and does not skim on some of the quality
Selling quality for a little over 100
Price
I paid 130 which is like 150th the price of a genuine moonwatch
A pretty decent watch for a pretty decent price
Competitiveness
It reminds me of the omega speedmaster but at a fraction of the price
The stainles steel band wristband from the new seiko is now on my 1978 seiko sport 100 still ruuning strong
Useful for syncing the ampm hours to the daydate change but it would have been nice to have a functional 24hour stopwatch
It looks like an omega without the expensive price tag

With it being a racing watch it comes with the chronometers and while its obviously not the smoothest movement its still lines up with the ticks on the face

With it being at the price that its at the hand winding is a bit numb so it wont actually move till you turn it a tick but thats one of the compromises to keep this watch affordable

Its all stainless steel case and chain but that lead me to the worse compromise to the watch

Totally acceptable for the bracelet to be a little

Well chintzy i guess but immediately swapped it out for a nicer bracelet and will rock natos on it for sure in the summer time

The chronograph function works like a mechanical watch

Also the bracelet is just average and has hollow end links

Take off the metal strap immediately and discard in trash
