Pros & Cons

Pros

These mics are awesome! I like playing a 4 piece kit so this mic kit is perfect. One great thing about these mics is how versatile they are. The reason for my review is to rave about the price.

Sm57 is a great under snare mic, i use the audix i5 for my snare top. The sm57's are built to last. King among their mic lineup is the sm57.

The beta 52 is nothing short of stunning. I was absolutely floored when i miked my band-mates bass guitar with this. It sounds 100% professional!

Cons

Made in mexico junk. These sound dull, and don't last long.

Quality

I gave this 5 stars because the quality of the mics out do the irratating clips

I recorded a little rudimentary snare drumming with the sm57 and with my pork pie snare i hear it live with a lot of ring and overtone

A lot of people will want to buy other packages that have 6 mics and include overheads but are cheaper and less quality

I use two of the shure sm57s as overheads for now and i will eventually invest in two good quality mics for overheads

Price

This is a great sounding set of microphones and the price is so much better than buying the mics and clips alone

The metal mounts are great and cost 40 a piece if bought on their own

Just buying 3 sm57s individually will cost you 300

Packaging/appearance

If you are playing in a large venue and putting drums through the pa or recording this is one of the two drum mic kits to get

Competitiveness

Awesome set i already have overheads and this was like a sm57 3mics with a free 52 for the price and they come in a nice case

Add to that the beta 52 for kick drum and mounts and this is a formidable kit for micing drums

Youll need a heavyduty boom or low standing mic stand for the 52a

They hook on to boom cymbal stands as well as drums but they are hard to position on drums

If put on a cymbal stand the mic rattles a little in the recording

I personally do not recommend this

The mic clips however are sturdy but annoying to adjust and put on a drum kit

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Sm57s have a decent amount of bleed which is why i dont use one for my snare top mic while recording

Ill be honest im picky with music gear

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

It always seems like i find annoying faults with almost any music gear i buy and its probably my own fault because i set expectations too high and i dont usually have enough cash to buy what i really want
