I did make the mistake of letting it get to low and had to recharge with outlet

The leds in the front are brite turn them on by pressing the on button for 2 seconds and the same way to turn them off when arrive had 75 percent of charge and i plug it to charge the battery to 100 persent as the instructions indicated

One downside is there is no bulge for the power button so there is no way for you to know where to turn the light on by feeling for it in the dark
