The metal edging will protect the bamboo and they will last longer than ones without the edging. Much sturdier than my previous bamboo steamer. This has very solid wooden slats in each section.

It has a strong smell that gets into the food.

Large veg like broccoli or cauliflower needs to be broken in smaller pieces as can’t fit otherwise
