We bought this because we had just purchased a brand new electric stove that we had to send back because both the oven at 400f and the top elements gave off this same smell but the oven stank up the entire house even after running it for 2 hours 3 days in a row

After that i found out it is probably the nonstick coatings on the interior of the oven and there were some stripes on the stove top that might have offgassed when it was turned on
