I suggest that you put your camera or phone onto the tripod before setting up the tripod or you will end up spinning your phone or camera into the tripod as opposed to spinning the tripod onto the phone or camera

The screw in system is solid i would not hesitate to use this with any camera video camera or phone that was not super heavy or burdened with a long or heavy lens
