Once it is applied to a dry surface it adheres well even if the container is handwashed

My problem is that since taping the edges of a painting before starting to work on it or using it as a mask in any way is not the use intended by the manufacturer when i needed to wipe paint acrylic off the taped edge of my panel the grey wiped off the surface of the tape leaving white areas the colour of the tape is water soluble
