Pros

I plugged it in - my computer booted - installed driver - setup team and was ready to go. I have a 4 port hp nic based on the intel 82571eb chip that worked great in esxi 5.

Works great with truenas after initial network setup (had to delete my old configuration and start a new ipv4 setup) i use this in an hp prodesk 600 g1 which is running pfsense. That machine serves as the router/firewall for my home network.

Works like a champ. No hiccups whatsoever.

This card works well for capturing packets in wireshark (in a parrot os vm) and for nids and netflow data for alienvault ossim (in another vm) this nic is good for freebsd 11. And up. The 1. Gb card has a datum of 1.

Gbps bandwidth is shared between the two network ports. Easy peasy. Delivery on time. I do a lot of work over the network and to the cloud.

Glad to say that it works great right out of the box.

Competitiveness

This is my 2nd or 3rd purchase of a 10gtek product.

Installed onto a pc that i turned into a pfsense router.

I'll likely end up putting the card in a pfsense box instead which is another great use for these.

I needed some nics for a pfsense firewall and trunas build.
