Pros

I'm now up and running and still getting the full gigabit speeds i was expecting. Things are super fast, i do a lot of work over the network and to the cloud.

This card works well for capturing packets in wireshark (in a parrot os vm) and for nids and netflow data for alienvault ossim (in another vm) this card is one of the candidates. For the 1. Version of the datum.

Has the intel chipset which was what i was going for. Came with standard and low profile bracket along with a driver disk. Attached is a screenshot of my hardware specs.

This card works fantastically with pfsense. I use this in an hp prodesk 600 g1 which is running pf sense. That machine serves as the router/firewall for my home network. This nic is good for freebsd 11.

Installed it and booted linux. No weird installation or driver issues. Easy to fix with a trip to /etc/network/interfaces though. Packed into an available pcie slot and upgraded via a bootable usb/ iso to 7.
