Pros & Cons

Update Pros and Cons

Pros

They come incredibly sharp and hold their sharpness over long use. Good crisp cuts in a variety of woods most notably hard maple and purple heart. These bits are rather pricey, but they cut well.

This bit has 2 extra cutters and because of that there is less load being put on each cutter. Needed the roundover in a 1/4 shank.

The quality and workmanship is excellent. I use them for custom woodworking and they do well. Zero issue.

Cons

This is the first time that i have been disappointed. Recieved the first bit, wasn't a quadra cut. Look out for sloppy grinding on the curved edge.

Quality

These worked out very well for me and performed like every other quality bit i have used in my life.

Dimensions are accurate and this is a sturdy piece of equipment.

Didn't even feel the tool cut the material, and the finish left behind was near polished.

I was having major burn issues with my old router bit where it was leaving burn marks on the wood when cutting cross grain.

Price

Much cheaper here than the big box stores.

Freud makes excellent router bits at a decent price.

I more than got my money’s worth out of that old bit.

You don't have to pay the high premium prices to get the quality i always find with them.

Packaging/appearance

Out of the packaging ready to go.

Competitiveness

95% of the router bits i own are the freud brand.

Never had any problems with them and i've always been a fan of bosch, and diablo as all 3 are part of the same parent company.

I chose this blade over other (less expensive) blades because it has four cutters and i’m hoping it will last longer.

Hands down when comparing less expensive bits the freud’s out perform.

I tend to use this for 3834 cuts and it leaves a great profile

The full cut can actually happen in a single cut if i want but sharp enough for sneaking up on a fit

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Cuts well but the smaller extra teeth arent perfectly aligned with the main radius so they leave a facet slightly different from the radius

Just realized i needed the 38 inch bit

But im keeping it for my next project

The difference with this round over bit that makes it superior to others is that it has four carbide cutters instead of the standard two

Maybe not the highest end but better than no name tools
