The lashing material in my opinion has a glossy or a smooth finish which doesn't allow the buckle to stay tight. Mostly i strap ladders and lumber to my truck rack, and these straps always became loose.

The strap that came with it was almost impossible to remove so i wanted one that would be relatively easy on and off
