Pros

Two wire power connector that you can hook in to more or less any dc power system. Mounted it to my desk and plugged in several peripherals, webcam, network adapter, wireless keyboard/mouse dongle.

All else works flawlessly. My experience with startech is stellar. I usually steer for startech whenever it is available - have done so for quite a few years without disappointment.

It does its job well and is solidly built. If you don't mind it looking industrial, and want something that just works, and works, this one fits the bill.

The enclosure seems rugged and was easy to mount. Easy to mount with several mounting methods available.

Never a disconnect or slowdown of speed writing to drives. I have to use docks for forensic applications sometimes. With regular docks, the hdd's get hot enough to fry an egg.

Cons

Nothing connects thru it. Stopped operating using it for a 2nd time. Ports (2 a each) = 4 ports—not 2 ports.
