They are gorgeous when using it just sitting in the cabinet. I also ordered gold colored silverware, they pair great and look really nice together.

The mug could be used as a soup bowl. The mugs are perfect size for soups and even ice cream and cobbler. The cups are oversized, great for coffee, desert or soup & the bowls are oversized.

They're heavy and the glaze is thick, the finish is beautiful - i love them. They're the best quality dishes i've owned against children with no chill, worth every penny. Microwave & dishwasher not a problem.

Almost each piece has spots of glaze missing or have highly noticeable imperfections. I think it's because of the matte finish--the food residue only slides off if it is still wet when the load is run.

The mug is the size of a soup mug. Some of the mugs are not microwave safe. The plate's slope is too aggressive and they fall over.
