My guess from reading other reviews is that there are different suppliers that supply the wire and some suppliers are shady and not truthful

If your connectors cant handle it or you are always going to listen at normal human volumes you are just wasting your money

Unless you like ear splitting volumes have speaker wiring runs in the hundreds of feet range or have been tested to have incredibly sensitive hearing ability14 gauge or lower is wasting your money

Although i prefer the slightly thicker 14awg wire it’s sometimes too thick to fit in some of the spring clip connectors common on older gear
