I know theres wireless direct which your computer printer may still print without internet access but you would have to switch out of your network wifi to go on the printer wifi to print

I used to print on my own wifi network at my college dorm but i moved to an apartment which charges 10 per device each month for wifi and i didnt think it was worth it to add my printer to their wifi network

Thus i had to use wireless direct to print my assignments and papers and switch my laptops internet connection back and forth

Works perfectly eliminated all the wireless printer is no longer connected or scan to computer is no longer active messages

Those messages made me crazy as the printer is less than 10 feet away from the computer

The printer i purchased did not come with this cable so this was an affordable find
