Pros

Bought this for my pfsense router running a version of linux. Placing it in was no issue. Came with long bracket attached, had to attach short bracket which was included in the box.

The 5 gig att fiber plan is capped at 4. Gbps. The nic was able to utilize the full bandwidth successfully. The switch port is set to auto-dac.

This card has the intel x550 chipset. Set this card to 5 gigabit in the advanced driver setting.

Cons

It was never recognized in my server nor in my windows 10 desktop. The cards get disabled due to overheating. Will be returning and avoiding 10gtek in the future.

This ethernet card works great, no issues it's reliable and fast.

Bought this card because my last asus 10gig network card keeps disconnecting after doing speed tests.

On this card and my mellanox cards the spf+ ports do not wake up even if i unplug and plug it back in (cisco and d-link switches tested).

The card was detected immediately and successfully negotiated a 10 gig connection.

Connections were quick and the windows os picked it up.

Packaging/appearance

The cards came in packed pretty well.

Came with a driver cd so i was a bit worried at first but truenas scale recognized it right away with no configuration needed.

Competitiveness

Realtech chips appeared to break the bios startup, but these intel chips appear to solve the problem.

I'm showing nearly identical speeds and latency compared to intel branded cards.
