Pros & Cons
Pros
The 10gtek x550-t2 has the intel x550 chipset. It connects to my cisco 3750x switch via a 10g copper sfp. The card was detected immediately and successfully negotiated a 10 gig connection. It has 2 ports, which you can team, and the software comes wit... Read More
I have a 6 gigabit symmetrical internet connection and the nic was able to utilize the full bandwidth successfully. I now test by performing long running ssd to ssd tests through a netgear 10gbps router. Data was sent from client to server, data size ... Read More
The synology connected to the internet & lan immediately upon being switched on - completely plug-and-play. After reconfiguring my network and another reboot. Also duel boot with windows 10.
Overall, it performs well. Works like a champ. Just makes my day when something is affordable, arrives quickly, and most importantly works right out of the box as specified.
This card works in both, drop in and go.
Cons
Will switch back but very disappointed. Will be returning and avoiding 10gtek in the future.

This review is for the 10gtek x550-t2 (pcie 3.
1), though i suspect that the same performance would be seen with the x540-t2.
Price
The price is significantly more expensive here than buying direct from 10gtek and having it ship from hk and used nics are appa... Read More
I do find the price to be a bit high though.
Competitiveness
Installed this in a matter of minutes in a synology ds1817+ nas.
I installed it in my synology ds1817+ and it worked well with my ubiquiti us-16-xg 10g.
I got really tired of backing up 45tb on a 1gbps connection.
I didn’t lower rating for this since auto select used same driver-set for my hardware/os as shown in 10gtek recommendation chart.

I bought 3 of these nics and a netgear 10gbps switch xs708t as i was tired of my 4x1gbps intel pro 1000 pt nics windows 10 auto aggregated links dropping to 1gbps due to ms dropping support for the automatic aggregation that they accidentally added into win10 a few years ago

Ms pulled this very nice accidental support and i was back to 1gbps without doing full switch configured lacp aggregation
