Pros & Cons
Pros
Works as advertised, shipped securely in metal case, and at an unbeatable price! Worked as advertised. Fast shipping and quick install.
A way to get to a 10g network from your system, such as a 10gbe adapter for thunderbolt 2 / machttps. The qnap is the other short direct run at 10gbps. It was instantly detected by synology and rated at 10gbit using a cat7 cable directly between my ma... Read More
Using this in a tp-link switch (tl-sg3210xhp-m2), works as expected. Worked like a champ no setup no messing around plug and go!
It has one spf+ port (slot 10). Gbps built in motherboard port. I intend to do link aggregation to a managed switch from my x10. Wanted to have the router sfp+ port accept my internet data (wan).
Cons
Received partial refund from amazon. That complicates the troubleshooting process immensely and feels disingenuous. None of the 10gtek or other 3rd party fiber connectors work.
Highlights
Quality
Works perfectly with the qnap device if your wondering.
Works perfectly with the sfp+ port on asus' rt-ax89x, to my aquantia (now marvell) 10g port on my motherboard.
The release clip is a bit fragile, but the product works as expected, and if you don't have to move it often, wouldn't have any issues.
Overall i am happy with the results, however i do have one significant complaint — this module does not report temperature.
Price
Knowing i'm getting full-bandwidth is worth the cost of this sfp+ module.
Packaging/appearance
Love the new packaging performs well but the latches break off sometimes which i hate!
However if you are going to change the packaging you might want to correct the wrong information on it while you are at it.
I noticed the packaging changed to a different color and design but all the information stayed the same.
Competitiveness
I also purchased a new cat6 cable to make sure i had a good quality cable.
Using this in a tp-link switch (tl-sg3210xhp-m2), works as expected.
I have a 10gbps pci-e nic coming in the mail tomorrow.
I hv a qnap nas (ts332x) and works well with it, basically just plug in and done, system detected the 10g port immediately.
