Close to onboard motherboard sata speeds. Can be used to add a couple of drives in the system to use with unraid. Truenas turns a 10-year-old dell optiplex into a nas box.

Cons

All the the drives that were connected to the 10gtech card are bricked. All report no media found when connected via a sata->usb card. Only hunch is maybe that heatsink isn't doing its job and it gets warm and starts to fail over 5-10 minutes.

I recommend this controller to anyone who is running truenas system to expand or replace their sata ports.

I've tried similar ones in the past and they either wouldn't install because of weird dimensions or just wouldn't work.

Buyer beware: the vast majority of cards you see here at all different prices use the older, less compatible, asmedia asm106x chipset.
