Metal appears to be chrome plated steel. Gauge of the metal is much thinner than other grab bars i have used. Anchors themselves are flimsy.

I put this in a guest bedroom where i have a claw tub and my son complained that it wasnt that easy to get in and out of and he is only in his twenties 🙄 i really cant see someone big who is falling relying on it 100 to avoid injury

First off throw the anchors they give you into the trash with extreme prejudice and go to your favorite hardware store and buy some quality anchors with a shoulder

I don’t anticipate that the chrome plating on the bracket covers will last as it kind of cracked off a little as i tried to slide them over the mounting brackets
