This involves screwing a stamped metal plate against drywall in such a way that only the edge of the metal is pressing against the paper surface of the gypsum board

It seems to me that once the metal edge begins to cut into the gypsum board either immediately if the screws are overtightened or in the long term as lateral pressure begins to rock the mountings it may eventually fail
