Some people created a cardboard template which is a great idea but my stairs are very old and have slight variations so i measured each step

While these are “clear” it is not invisible on my hardwood brown steps

Also they are textured like very rough sandpaper which helps prevent slips but can give you “road rash” if you accidentally fall on them
