The other problem is due to having a wide faucet stem due to the handsfree built in motion sensor in the faucet stem

The splash guard was worth a try but didn’t work out for our sink

One of the underside supports should have been immediately adjacent to the the tinterlock behind the faucet as it is its unsupported and will tend to sag down accentuating the gap
