Pros & Cons
Pros
The card can do 1000mbit 24/7 without overheating. Appears to be on par with other gigabit nics i have that are genuine broadcom and intel.
This network card uses the intel 82575/82576 chipset, which was first released in 2007. My motherboard has intel i211 gigabit ethernet onboard. Works great in my lenovo m720q minipc with a small pci-e adapter.
Windows recognzes it instantly. It just works. All in all, it's basic, but it works as intended.
Was able to bridge the two ports to make one 2-gigabit connection. Ie 192. Gb rj45 ports for my makeshift server. Needed to be connected to the network to receive software updates and search for troubleshooting tips.

Cons
But it refused to connect at 2.
Highlights
Quality
Performance is as expected, good assembly, clean board not covered in flux and appropriately cooled.
I like the heavy quality of the metal used on the brackets.
The newer manufactured cards seem to have been locked down more to limit what transceivers will and will not work with them.

Price
Overall it is inexpensive and easy to install and get going.
This is a steal at this price and for a dual port card.
For what you get, this is fairly priced.
This does what you need it to do at a reasonable price.
Shipping
I received the i350 dual rj 45 ports without heat sink.
Will do some testing soon as i am waiting for new cable modem to arrive.
Packaging/appearance
🌐 as i unboxed this marvel, i couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia, reminiscent of the farm where i spent my youthful days.
Competitiveness
This card is a cost-effective alternative to the intel i210-t1, delivering comparable quality without breaking the bank.
So far it's a great alternative to more expensive cards.
The x550 isn't a new chipset at all, and it isn't at all difficult to find genuine intel cards that are server pulls or nos for... Read More
In terms of not-intel-but-intel-chipset cards, i didn't see anything on this card that would make me pay a premium over any other brand.

The card is recognized but i have had issues getting these cards to work properly

I believe the problem is that these cards often have firmware and drivers that either whitelistblacklist sfp transceivers that will work with them

Linux usually ignores that check and allows a much larger range of sfp transceivers to work

Based on research i have done on the web there may be some workaround with drivers and modifying card eprom to ignore any whitelist checking in windows but it seems like this card will be hard to get working well with windows 10 or 11

If you run into the issue i have encountered you may wish to search the web for34patching intel x520 eeprom to unlock all sfp transceivers34i am considering modifying the card but it is not a simple process and perhaps not be worth it
