The shielding tape helps deflect heat from the exhaust and engine. Seeing about 4-5 degrees cooler intake temps after installing the tape. After taping it’s closer to 110.

Cons

This is not insulation tape. Claims to be good for up to 500 degrees centigrade, radiant and direct temperature.
