Pros
This is a good way of making use of unused sfp slots on switches/routers where you don't need fibre modules. Works with my unifi us-8-150, just slotted in and powered up and appears in the gui. Works very well in both switches, no problems at all.

I did initially try to connect a slower 100mbps iot device and could not work out why it did not work then realised i got the slightly cheaper 1gb not the 100010010 version but that’s not a problem

Tplink recommended a type for their own switches a tplink duplex single core gbic massive install and guess what they didn’t work even after threatening to sue them they admitted they wouldn’t worki fitted these single mode “wow” 1gb network suddenly came alivei only now buy and specify these only
