It's much easier & cheaper to get this kit. The sound quality is awesome. Not as good as icom or yaesu but so much cheaper.
The uv-5r8w puts out 145. W on high power into a 50-ohm rf * load. They transmit from 2. W to 2. They can also be used to send rf signals.
I reall like that you can lock the radio so rookies wont mess up. Comes with so many attachments and has tons of functions.
Cons
Both radios only transmit a very short distance.
Only with the 110 desk charger. Do not buy, ask for a refund or return. Because this seller is not an authorized beofeng seller.

I am impressed with the range and sound quality.
The battery life is great and the reception is crystal clear.
Seriously, these are not turn on and talk devices.
Worked fine programming 144/440 however when i tried to program 222mhz no luck using same procedures as the 1st 2 freq.
