I also use them on both our stairways so that if you are too lazy to turn on the light you still get enough light to see the steps

And if i am in the shower when the power goes out i have enough light to finish my shower and step out without killing myself yes power has gone out at night when i was in shower

It only lights up when i walked right up to the the light so it kind of defeats the purpose of it being an night light

I did not reduce the rating as the marketing material does not say they perform as a permanant night light
