I’m comfortable putting expendables filters on these step ups without worrying about them abusing my threads. This is an unbeatable way to protect your more expensive filters ( black pro mist, variable nd's, ect ) from damage during transport.

Cons
Both 77mm and 82mm threads are terrible! In the replacement set, both of them jam up. There is also no ribs on this adapter so it is hard to grip to remove.

I've used this in order to use a 77mm circular polarizer on my 52mm macro lens.
It's a step up ring, it's not like the more expensive competitors have more features.
I have a minolta srt film camera with a 52mm wide angle lens and a 72mm zoom lens.
Designated to affix itself to my 58mm ir lens.

So i found a 43 x 67mm adapter and used my existing 67mm filters

Both labeled as 5258mm adapters one fits and the other was a different size

Yes they work but i dont use mine any more because they are almost impossible to unscrew

Applying a little oil to the threads before using them helps but even then if you tighten them down very much at all good luck on unscrewing them

After too many times of struggling to back them off i cut my losses and stopped using them
