When windows starts up it will look for the display device and set the resolution accordingly if the switch is set to the wrong position windows will default to a lowresolution setting and this will need correction once the switch has been set to the right position

Appears to work ok had a lot of trouble making the resolution work across two screens and don’t make the mistake i did thinking this would would as screen extender hint it doesn’t

Excellent product and it does the job to switch two pcs into one monitor i have win 10 and found i had to make adjustment to monitor set up in win10 settings thats easy and your set up may not need
