Pros & Cons
Pros
A toothpick works really well to separate/space the bulb power wires when refitting into original sockets. I have christmas reindeer that use incandescent bulbs. Seems to be just as bright as the ones that came with the tree. My pre-lit tree has.
You need to know the bulb spec for voltage, current and wattage, which is not always clear or available. If you substitute all 50 bulbs in the loop with the higher current/wattage bulbs, they have the same brightness.

Competitiveness
This is the best way to buy miniature incandescent bulbs - - even less expensive than large big-box stores.
Although a bit tedious, i figured it was easier (and less frustrating) than restringing that section of the tree in a way that ... Read More
