If its not maxed audio really only comes out of one ear with a faint bit of noise from the other ear

When the volume is maxed audio is a little better than from the ear bud that comes with the ps4

And i didnt mess with it too much but i couldnt get the headset to work without my turtle beach adapter for xb1

I use an xbox360 and the only issue that i have found is that the jack that plugs into the adapter has to be adjusted to get use of both headphones but i believe that is just an obscure issue that does not affect the others

However after hours of use heavy use head starts to hurt the bridge is too hard and gets really uncomfortable

The microphone does only turn one side so it is always on you left when you wear the headset
