Pros

You get shortcuts to continue where you left off, without even having to open a specific app. Apple music integration. It's nice not having to connect my phone via bluetooth anymore.

More apps and games than roku. Snappy & no bugs or stutters after the initial issue mentioned above. Apple tv 4k gives you the ability to stream virtually anything in dolbyvision. Onkyo avr with 5. Avr is a great alternative to roku.

Cons

Apple promises updates to these units, and it updates frequently, but the! Apple wants me to drive 150 miles to an apple service and then what? Just a flat 2005’s 5. Apple's answer is to blame third party apps third party hardware and software.

Apparently if it gets unplugged it resets. It is way to easy for kids to reset all the settings back to factory settings. Anyone who's trying to figure out how to use the remote can accidentally reset it with a couple wrong swipes.

I replaced my firestick with this apple tv because i was having lagging issues even when connected to firestick via ethernet cable.

I used it in conjunction with t-mobile “through the air” home internet.

Probably could have gotten cheaper or used one for the price.

And waaaay more expensive, like 3 times the price of the competition.
