Pros & Cons
Pros
Robot has amazing suction and even pulls dirt from beside and behind it as it goes along. It's well-built and feels sturdy. the orange bucket in the photo was used as an obstacle to keep the robot from climbing the stair.
The cordless design make it easy to maneuver without getting tangled. It climbs the pool walls and navigates smartly, ensuring every spot is clean. It picks up debris effectively, leaving my pool spotless.
My pool has an hourglass shape and the bottom is rounded into the wall. The s pattern for cleaning the bottom works well with my mostly rectangular pool.
The power port is an upgrade with a better cover that provides more confidence that the ports are properly sealed prior to submerging into the water. The multiple modes are also very handy. The charging is simple, and doesn’t take long to return to 10... Read More
Cons
This company is a scam. They want me to pay $140 extra for a defective item they sent! Terrible amazon customer service.
Here's the downside first. Enough is enough. Something is definitely wrong here. No battery at all.
Highlights
Quality
Replaced an earlier hayword corded version with this long battery life and it is terrific!
Climbs walls like a champ, suction cleans up the finest dirt.
The old seagull se did a fairly good job, but this scuba s1 knocks it out of the park.
The battery lasts for 150 minutes on a full charge.
Price
I had the original aiper seagull which was a decent machine for the price.
I purchased a less expensive vacuum, and was very disappointed.
I had the seagull one first and it did a horrible job for the amount of money it was.
I could not see keeping it just to clean the bottom of my pool for the price that it was.
Shipping
It charged reasonably fast and was ready to go right out of the box.
Packaging/appearance
The packaging was excellent along with directions.
Very well wrapped and protected, informative instructions included.
The unboxing was similar to the new cell phone experience.
Competitiveness
Having experience with polaris, maytronics and aiper, the scuba s1 from hyper presents a lot of upgrades to other pool sweeps.
Compared to the really expensive ones, (800 or more) this is a home run
It is light weight compared to my prior machine.
