Pros & Cons
Pros
The speed and ease of loping and chopping branches is a big seller for this tool. It makes pruning small branches up to 1 diameter, very quick and easy. The blade response is dramatically strong and can handle any reasonable branch without issue.
The cordless pruner is very much less stressful on my arthritic hands since i no longer have to manually generate cutting power! It takes the stress off my hands. Bought them because i have arthritis in my thumbs, these pruner are helpful for that.
Pleasantly surprised by the power from this battery powered tool. With temperatures soaring, i love my 20v work fan as well.
Cons
Current design has zero longevity. Very difficult to exchange or have repaired.
The sparking motor builds up significant heat that conducts all along the top of the tool. There are no steel reinforcements at the critical point where the strong jaws push back against the plastic frame.
Highlights
Quality
The blades are set up well and can easily slice through thick stems and limbs and it can go all day on a well charged battery.
Amazing tool, i can do 10x the work without becoming exhausted, they are sharp, very powerful and i wear out before the battery.
Used this with large battery and after three hours and cutting lots of branches and small trees battery was still full.
Have been wary of dewalt tools for many years because they're made in china, which often means very poor quality.
Price
" this helped to keep the cost down in my case.
I found them at same price $89 at hd locally, and purchased.
Having a professional pruner work on my five fruit trees was going to cost $1100 (no thanks "tree works").
Value: the cutter easily trimmed the 1" branches i was working with.
Shipping
I ordered from amazon but after a few weeks amazon cancelled my order as they could not get a supply of them in.
With both of these tools i think i'll get my yard in ship shape by the end of the year.
Competitiveness
I have had several different brands but this is the best one.
I plan to trim crepe myrtles and similar shrubs as well.
