They do have a funny smell but i put some frebreze the night before and put them out in the sun

I first purchased an order of these leis and an order from another company 144 ct per order as identifier to compare them and immediately sent the other order back because it was packaged in vacuum sealed bags which permanently creased the leis no matter how long youd leave them out to fluff up

There were so many of them that it also doubled as decoration

They do fall apart easily but they’re so cheap and i only needed them for the one day

Not a chemical smell definitely like they were either wet at some time or spent time in a very wet building
